MKM architecture + design was presented with the 2024 Excellence in Small Business Award by Greater Fort Wayne, Inc.
Principal, Andrew Mitchell, AIA, ACHA, NCARB, presented at the 2024 Annual Indiana Rural Health Association Conference on June 12 in French Lick, Indiana. Mitchell shared his presentation, “Emergence by Emergency,” which evaluated emergency care for rural populations. He addressed new strategies such as human-centered design, rapid patient intake, and transitional units that break down historical clinical silos – defining design principles which can support more desirable outcomes when addressing emergency care. By leading these important discussions, he challenges facility operators to consider a multitude of factors when considering healthcare facility design for the future.
