The City of Fort Wayne recently released plans for the next phase of The Landing – The Landing Exchange. The future site of the $20 million development is on the corner of Harrison and Columbia Street in downtown Fort Wayne, IN, and includes a new six-story building with 40 housing units, 20% of which will be considered affordable housing. The ground floor will include two commercial spaces. The Model Group is the project developer, working with MKM architecture + design in a continued partnership to develop the district.
“The Landing continues to be a focal point in the redevelopment of our downtown and Riverfront, thanks in large part to our development partner, The Model Group,” said Jonathan Leist, Community Development Division Director. “This project will bring affordable housing units, create more residential opportunities and drive additional investment. We’re eager to bring the Landing Exchange to life and continue to build on the transformational success of the first two phases of redevelopment of the Landing, one of our city’s most beloved and historic spaces.”
Construction for The Landing Exchange is anticipated to begin in early 2025 and be completed in the summer of 2026. MKM architecture + design was also the lead architect on the first phase of The Landing development, which opened in 2020.
