MKM and 2024 AIA IN EP Friendly Firm Logo

MKM architecture + design (MKM) is proud to announce its recognition from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Indiana as a 2024 Emerging Professional Friendly Firm. This award is given to firms who demonstrate a commitment to supporting and providing opportunities for emerging professionals in the industry.

MKM offers a paid internship program for architecture students to engage in projects of all scales and phases, primarily focusing on healthcare design. Our hands-on learning approach supports the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) framework for the Architectural Experience Program (AXP). Interns are assigned various responsibilities, such as creating mixed media deliverables (3D models, renderings, animations), field verification, assisting in drafting construction documents, and involvement in project meetings with the design team and multiple consultants. This real-world experience is invaluable as they embark on their journey to become licensed professionals.

The firm encourages and supports all design professionals employed by the firm to obtain professional licensure. Senior staff members supervise and mentor associates working towards licensure. Additionally, the firm offers reimbursement for the cost and fees required by the program and grants paid time off to take the exams.

MKM is proud of its commitment to emerging professionals – gearing our future leaders for success. Learn more about MKM’s internship program at https://www.mkmdesign.com/careers/internship-program/.
