Fort Wayne, Indiana
The Lutheran Health Physicians (LHP) Primary Care clinic, located on the northeast side of Fort Wayne, is a prototype clinic model focused on centralizing primary care and imaging service lines within smaller communities. The clinic design incorporates design standards developed by MKM and LHP. Optimized staff and patient flow, standardized exam and support spaces, and centralized physician spaces improve overall patient satisfaction while strengthening LHP’s brand within the communities they serve.
The clinic centralizes clinic suites for (8) primary care physicians who serve northwest Fort Wayne. The primary care suite is comprised of a shared lobby and registration area, (24) exam rooms (3 rooms per physician), (8) physician offices, (4) central nurse stations, staff break room, and associated storage and support spaces. The RediMed urgent care area is an addition to the prototype, which incorporates (5) urgent care rooms, (1) lab, and (1) x-ray area.
This project is an example of a community access point facility with multiple service lines focused on outpatient care. The design team utilized established facility standards to efficiently design each clinic space and establish a brand identity for LHN.
