Where did you grow up?
While I’m still growing up, I have lived in Wabash, Muncie, and Fort Wayne.
What interested you in pursuing a career in architecture/interior design?
Mike Brady was a childhood inspiration, but I also did best in school through visual learning, so architecture was a natural fit for me. I loved picture books so I figured, why not just make a career out of drawing images with written instructions to those images? My kids think I just color all day long.
What motivates you to come into work every day at MKM?
The MKM team
Where do you look for inspiration?
Breakfast; any time of day, and anywhere. It could be bacon and eggs, a simple donut, or just a great cup of coffee does the trick too. I always remember getting breakfast with my grandpa at 6:00 a.m. with his friends. So now, I love having the opportunity to go for breakfast with my daughter and son if they have a delay for school. It always makes me feel ready to go change the world so that they have a better one.
How do you recharge during your free time?
Two things:
1. Playing jokes on people to make others laugh
2. Breakfast…seriously, I love breakfast food
Which projects are you most proud to have worked on?
It’s hard to choose a favorite. I’m proud of every single project I’ve worked on at MKM, supporting the firm’s mission of enhancing the health and well-being of our communities. My proudest moment to date is my involvement with Indiana State Department of Health in kick-starting the discussions of Indiana Emergency Waivers for the COVID surge so that hospitals can do what they do best.
Where is your favorite place to travel?
Italy. My wife and I can’t wait to take our kids someday.

The NFPA 101 Handbook…picture book!

My senior year of high school, I opened a time capsule I created in 6th grade, and it said I wanted to be an architect – nailed it!
